How To Become A Model Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

1. How can I submit modeling photos and apply to the modeling agency in order to become a ZARZAR MODEL?
You may submit your modeling pictures, statistics, and your contact information (including the best phone number to reach you) by e-mail.

Via e-mail to:
print@zarzarmodels.com

2. Do the modeling pictures have to be professional?
No, professional modeling photographs are not necessary in order to apply to the ZARZAR MODELING AGENCY to become a ZARZAR MODEL. However, this does not mean that you can submit blurry modeling images or bad quality modeling images. Instead, use the best camera that you have available (borrow from a friend or relative if necessary) and ask a family member or close friend to take your modeling pictures for you based on the ZARZAR MODELING AGENCY requirements as explained in the "Submit Photos" section of our modeling agency website.

3. What is ZARZAR MODELS looking for?
We are looking for natural beauty, which means minimal makeup. Modeling photos should reflect your ability to be versatile and have different looks. Remember to include all measurements (as explained in the "Submit Photos" section of our modeling agency website) when submitting your modeling photos and please do not forget to include the best phone number where we can reach you along with the rest of your contact information (city, state, country, etc.).

"I dream of becoming a ZARZAR MODEL and modeling for the world's most prestigious fashion brands. It's all I've ever wanted. It's the only thing that matters." **

** It's the only thing that matters in addition to getting an education, ending world hunger, curing all diseases, and world peace.

4. In addition to including my modeling photos, statistics, and contact information (including the best phone number where I can be reached by the modeling agency) are there any additional things that I can do to increase my chances of becoming a ZARZAR MODEL?

Yes. Including a brief 2 or 3 paragraph summary of who you are and why you would like to become a ZARZAR MODEL shows the agency that you are serious about modeling and becoming a successful fashion model.

5. I am only 5'6" in height. Can I apply to become a ZARZAR MODEL?

The minimum height in order to become a ZARZAR MODEL is currently 5'7" in height (without heels). The minimum recommended height in order to become a ZARZAR MODEL is 5'9" in height (without heels). That said, it is important to note that over 90% of ZARZAR MODELS recruited over the past few years that were 17 years old or older have been either 5'10" or 5'11" in height. Even if you do not meet our minimum height requirements we still encourage you to apply because the modeling agency can sometimes recommend qualified candidates to any of our partner modeling agencies located around the world. The agency can also make exceptions to the minimum height requirements if we believe that you are the world's next supermodel.

There are no minimum height requirements for teenagers that are less than 18 years of age as long as you are still growing. That said, the agency uses the above height requirements for adults as guidelines when considering teenagers for admission to the agency.

6. Are there any fees involved in order to become a ZARZAR MODEL?

The agency does not charge any admission fees or any other types of fees in order to become a ZARZAR MODEL and model for the agency.

7. I don't understand. If you do not charge any fees to become a ZARZAR MODEL and join your prestigious modeling agency, then how do you make any money?

Unlike modeling schools who will probably charge you thousands of dollars for the privilege of joining their school, our modeling agency does not charge any admission fees. Instead, our modeling agency will earn a percentage of your earnings that result from your modeling career. This forces us to be extremely selective when recruiting models because the more successful you become and the more money you make, the more successful the agency will become and the more money the agency will make. Thus, both of our interests are aligned.

This is also one of the reasons why modeling schools will take almost anyone (anyone with cash) while world class modeling agencies will have extremely high admission requirements for models. In other words, once you become a ZARZAR MODEL we will invest valuable time and/or money in you in order to try to make you as successful as possible. It is also important to keep in mind that there are never any guarantees that you will become a very successful fashion model, so in a way our modeling agency is taking a risk with you because we will have no way of recovering the time and/or money spent on you if you do not become a successful fashion model.

8. How long does ZARZAR MODELS generally take on average in reviewing modeling applications from models applying to the modeling agency?

The modeling agency receives tens of thousands of modeling applications from female model applicants from around the world. Thus, because of the extremely large number of model applicants the modeling agency requires from a few weeks to up to 3 months (90 days) for the modeling agents to get to your modeling application and review the application. This amount of time is necessary because we need to look at your modeling application in the context of the whole applicant pool so that we may select the models that we believe will be the most successful from that applicant pool.

What this means for you is that you should not accept any offers from other modeling agencies that might respond to you faster because of their smaller applicant pool.

Please visit the following section for more information on How To Become A Model For A Modeling Agency.

9. Does ZARZAR MODELS have an Instagram account?

Yes. You may follow us on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/zarzarmodels

However, please keep in mind that because the ZARZAR MODELS website (and its subdomains) receive millions of visitors and page views from around the world, we spend very little time on social media and over 99.9% of our time is spent booking our fashion models around the world and further developing our ever expanding global website in multiple languages. Thus, as a result of these marketing efforts which began approximately 15 years ago in the year 2005, the ZARZAR MODELS website (and its subdomains) currently has over 10,000 pages and was recently ranked among the top 3 most visited fashion modeling agency websites in the world in terms of global website traffic.

10. I am a fashion model looking for a global mother agency and was wondering if ZARZAR MODELS is also a mother agency?

Yes, ZARZAR MODELS is also a mother agency. Being a mother agency for our beautiful fashion models allows our fashion modeling agency to efficiently cover certain fashion markets where we might not have a presence as strong as we would like compared to other fashion markets. Thus, many of our top fashion models have the advantage of not only being represented by our agency as mother agency, but by agents from many of the world's largest and most prestigious modeling agencies (the model's commission is simply shared between our modeling agency and our partner modeling agencies).

Being a mother agency basically means that many of the world's largest and most prestigious fashion modeling agencies contact our fashion modeling agency and ask our modeling agency for permission so that they may represent our beautiful fashion models as part of their official model rosters for a certain amount of time in specific fashion cities.

In other words, being your mother agency allows us to guide you throughout your fashion modeling career, to book you with our fashion clients around the world, and to sign you with additional modeling agencies both in the United States and in foreign countries for additional global representation. Pretty cool.

11. My mom and grandma do not want me to model in lingerie. I know that (http://bras.zarzar.com) receives massive traffic, but do I really have to model for lingerie brands?

The answer is that lingerie modeling is not required with our agency.

Unlike other top modeling agencies, we do not allow nudity and we encourage our fashion models to NOT consider lingerie modeling until they have been modeling for at least a few years.

Lingerie modeling requires an almost perfect, beautiful, flawless body or a perfect, beautiful, flawless body (that is a lot of adjectives), extreme body confidence, and extensive modeling experience, and probably less than 1/3 of our models do lingerie modeling. In fact, most of our lingerie models started lingerie modeling with their previous modeling agencies.

12. ZARZAR MODELS is currently considering my modeling application, but before they make any decisions about representing me they would like to know if I would be interested in modeling in fashion cities like New York City, Paris, London, Milan (Italy), and/or Tokyo. I am confused as to why this is important for the agents and the agency?

The agency receives tens of thousands of modeling applications, and part of each agent's job is to select the models that have the highest chance of being successful as top fashion models. Even though it is technically possible, we probably have never heard of a supermodel that never modeled in New York City, Paris, London, and/or Milan (collectively referred to as the fashion capitals of the world).

In fact, modeling in Paris and Milan is considered a right of passage for fashion models, and in our opinion (with minor exceptions), you are not really a fashion runway model until you have actually modeled for Fashion Week in the four fashion capitals of the world (Fashion Week is not really a week but more like a month long where fashion models from all over the world audition for dozens of fashion brands in New York, London, Milan, and Paris). It is extremely exhausting, and fashion models do this twice each year (except for 2020 because of the Coronavirus). In other words, unless you are under the age of 16 (usually the minimum age for Fashion Week) it is considered a huge red flag to not want to model around the world (which is supposed to be part of the fun in fashion modeling).

In other words, fashion modeling allows models to learn about other cultures, their languages, and perhaps most importantly, to experience how we all live in a really big world called planet Earth that has over 7 billion people. Basically, fashion modeling abroad allows runway models to see the world. You may learn more about modeling in Europe and Asia at:

https://europe.zarzarmodels.com

https://asia.zarzarmodels.com

It is important to know that modeling in Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, etc. for either a few weeks or a few months is NOT required by our agency. We have a lot of middle school models, high school models, and even models in college that can not travel abroad because of personal obligations (school, family, etc.).

It is also important to note that the above examples do not apply to direct bookings by our fashion clients. In a direct booking, the client will pay for your travel expenses (flight ticket, hotel stay for as many days as necessary, etc.). Supermodels, famous fashion models, and highly successful fashion models constantly get directly booked by fashion clients, even if those clients are located around the world.

In other words, direct bookings should be one of your goals as a fashion model. Starting their own foundations or charities in order to help make the world a better place is also a major goal of many supermodels in addition to constantly getting booked direct by fashion companies (by the way, you usually also get paid about have your regular modeling daily rate on your travel days for out of state or international fashion modeling bookings, which is why we like to say that supermodels, famous fashion models, and highly successful fashion models can get paid to travel around the world).

13. I want to model abroad but I am a fairly new fashion model and do not have much money for travel expenses such as my flight tickets, foreign apartment rent, etc. Do I have to pay for those expenses when modeling in foreign countries?

The answer is yes and no. If you visited the above links (previous question), you would already know that you would eventually need to pay for those travel expenses, but generally the foreign agencies will initially pay for those expenses on your behalf (flight tickets, apartment rent, etc.). Once you start modeling abroad, the foreign modeling agencies (our partner modeling agencies) will reimburse themselves for advancing you the money which will be taken out of your foreign modeling paychecks. Remember that foreign modeling agencies are not charities. They want you to make money so that they can make money since they earn a percentage of your fashion modeling earnings.

In other words, being lazy and not wanting to work as a fashion model so that you can go shopping in Paris or Milan with your other model friends will not cut it with the foreign modeling agencies, and it is expected that when not working on fashion modeling jobs you will be constantly going to modeling auditions. That said, a good modeling contract from your mother agency will protect you in case you do not earn enough money modeling abroad so that your account does not go negative. Many mother agency contracts for experienced fashion models might also include a minimum dollar amount guarantee that a fashion model will make while fashion modeling in foreign countries.

If you are a minor, at least one parent or legal guardian will be required to travel with you, but do not expect the foreign modeling agencies to pay for the travel expenses of your father, mother, or legal guardian. Instead, a good recommendation for teenage fashion models is for them to ask their parents to stop giving them an allowance and to stop giving them money for shopping at the mall, and instead to save that money for their flight tickets so that they can accompany you abroad for a few days or a few weeks.

14. I was wondering how much money fashion models make per day?

We have a special section on model earnings at:

https://earnings.zarzarmodels.com

If the booking is done through our agency, the minimum starting rate for a United States booking (foreign modeling rates are different) is generally between $100 and $150 per hour per model depending on the model's experience and type of booking, but many experienced models have higher rates.

These minimum modeling rates exclude New York City which has higher modeling rates ($250 per hour for new fashion models and $500 to $1,000 per hour at a minimum for experienced fashion models), and there are always exceptions to these rates if we believe that doing a booking is in the best interest of our models (for example, an editorial booking for a prestigious fashion magazine even if it pays less than our minimum rates). In addition, lingerie bookings are at time and a half meaning that the minimum rate is $225 per hour per model with a four hour minimum because we do not like new fashion models without any experience to do lingerie bookings ($750 to $1,500 per hour per model with a four hour minimum in New York City).

However, please keep in mind that our fashion models actually receive less because we subtract the 20% agency fee from their paychecks. Bummer.

15. Please tell me more about modeling contracts for advertising campaigns for fashion clients in New York, London, Paris, and Milan Italy for top fashion models and supermodels.

Top models that have modeling experience at the international level, have an excellent modeling portfolio (modeling book), have been featured in major fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle, and that have modeled in the fashion capitals of the world (New York, London, Paris, and Milan Italy) can easily earn over $10,000.00 United States dollars per day.

It is also important to note that these numbers are just starting dollar amounts for negotiating the modeling contracts for prestigious advertising campaigns (this negotiation is done between your mother agency, the modeling agency in New York or Europe, and the New York or European fashion client). We like to call them high powered modeling contract negotiations.

16. I was wondering how much money supermodels make per year?

We have a special section on supermodel earnings (they are collectively called the Money Girls) at:

https://money.zarzarmodels.com

17. My mom says that since I am still in high school that I should only focus on school at this time. I really love fashion modeling so I was wondering if my mom is right. What should I do?

Your mom is a wise woman. That said, we can accommodate your middle school or high school schedule so that you only work on select weekends, quarterly breaks, winter break, and the 3 summer months each year. Starting early will give you a huge head start in your fashion modeling career versus other fashion models that start late during their college years.

18. My mom says that since I am still in college that I should only focus on school at this time and model after I graduate from college. I really love fashion modeling so I was wondering if my mom is right. What should I do?

Unfortunately, your mom is probably not as wise (as it relates to fashion modeling) as when you were in middle school or high school. While the agency considers it extremely important for you to continue your college education, at this stage in your life, fashion modeling should be your number one priority. Your college degree will protect you once your looks eventually start to fade in your later years, but at this age you are at your prime in terms of your youth, looks, and beauty. In college, you can take classes two or even three times a week and model on your days off.

In fact, whenever we have had problems with our fashion models in the past (they were not really problems but more like disagreements) it was because of scheduling. We really do have an issue with fashion models that say that their number one priority is fashion modeling and then they decide to take classes five days a week. In college, at our agency, modeling just on weekends will not cut it and will probably just upset your agent or agents.

We once had a beautiful fashion model that was 5'11 in height. She was a freshman or sophomore (we can't remember exactly) in college who was dating a very handsome fireman. So several days before a fashion editorial for a magazine we gave her a call and asked her if she could work on Sunday in order to be featured on the magazine. She politely said no because she had a party on that specific Sunday afternoon with her fireman boyfriend and all his firemen friends. This is when it becomes a problem for the agency and the agents.

When a fashion model starts to prefer partying over fashion modeling for prestigious fashion magazines and fashion advertising campaigns, we know that we have a problem with the model that needs to be addressed by the agents. Eventually, our agents and agency lost interest in representing her because she was never available and we soon parted ways amicably (in a friendly and peaceful way). On a positive note, she did end up marrying the fireman several years later, which makes us wonder, what is it about firemen?

19. Sorry to ask, but why does your website look so 2005?

If you were born after the year 1999 you might find it difficult to believe but our website was pretty advanced for its time back in the day. That said, you are currently visiting our classic website (which is being preserved for historical purposes) instead of our more modern websites that were recently built and developed for the 2020's. However, the information on this page was updated for the year 2020 because this page receives so much traffic, and only the classic website look remains unchanged for this page.

However, if this is very upsetting to you (for whatever reason, or maybe you only like to visit modern websites) the following link can take you to the modern version of this page built for the 2020's: HOW TO BECOME A MODEL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (F.A.Q.)

20. Please tell me more about ZARZAR MODELS because I really love this agency.

The following link can take you to one of our next generation websites, and hopefully you can take it from there: visit our 2020's fashion modeling television website.

You may also learn more about what it is like to be a highly successful fashion model by visiting our general directory page which lists a few of our major classic and modern websites, affiliate websites, social media websites, and other related media properties: visit our 2020's general directory page.

ZARZAR MODELS was founded in the year 2005, does not conduct interviews via Skype, never requests photos in the nude or lingerie, and never requires monetary payment in order to join its prestigious modeling agency. In other words, there are no fees to join our fashion modeling agency, but we generally accept less than 1% of all adult model applicants and less than 3% of all teenage model applicants (this is because a lot of parents do not want their children to work while they are in middle school or high school so there is a lot less competition when applying to our modeling agency as a teenager).

ZARZAR MODELS is one of the top modeling agencies for women in the world representing models in print fashion editorials, high fashion runway, film, television commercials, and promotions. The agency represents top models in all of the major fashion cities and recruits and represents models throughout the world through its global fashion and modeling network.

ZARZAR FASHION (http://zarzarfashion.com) is the shopping destination for the millions of women that visit the various ZARZAR websites, including the (http://fashion.zarzarmodels.com) website. ZARZAR FASHION was founded in the year 2005.

Current ZARZAR FASHION affiliates (as of September 24, 2020) include many of the most prestigious fashion brands and companies in the world including:

1) Macy's
2) Saks Fifth Avenue (luxury fashion)
3) Neiman Marcus (luxury fashion)
4) Bergdorf Goodman (one of the most luxurious and prestigious fashion retailers in the world)
5) Ann Taylor
6) Hanes Brands (Bali, Maidenform, Playtex, Champion, etc.)
7) Leonisa (lingerie and swimwear)
8) Intimissimi (lingerie and swimwear)
9) Calzedonia (lingerie and swimwear)
10) 7 For All Mankind (premium jeans)
11) Farfetch (luxury fashion)
12) Shein (fast fashion)
13) Romwe (fast fashion)
14) Bebe
15) Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH (comparable to other off-price stores such as Nordstrom Rack)
16) Ann Taylor Factory

In addition to being able to provide fashion models to many of the most prestigious fashion companies in the world, we are also able to provide the above firms with world class photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, wardrobe stylists, and manicurists for their fashion campaigns.

The agency and some of our beautiful fashion models that have received training in acting also receive residuals from acting and/or fashion modeling work from television shows, featured films, etc. In addition, our modeling agency (or affiliated companies) and some of our top fashion models can also earn licensing fees from fashion companies.

This is the reason why unlike modeling schools that will charge models (or their parents) thousands of dollars just for joining each school, we do not need to charge our fashion models any money when they are admitted to our prestigious modeling agency. In other words, the more money our fashion models make from fashion modeling, the more money we will make as a modeling agency, and the more successful our fashion models become from our efforts, the more successful our modeling agency becomes, which is why we like to say that nothing is more important than the success and safety of our beautiful fashion models.

Over 77% of our traffic is generally from females in their late teens, 20's, and 30's.

https://zarzarfashion.com (Alexa.com United States traffic rank: 21,544 as of October 16, 2020).

https://zarzarmodels.com (Alexa.com United States traffic rank: 19,331 as of November 8, 2020).

For reference purposes, the lower the Alexa.com (an Amazon subsidiary) traffic rank, the better, with Google being ranked #1 in the world (as an example). Thus, it is believed that this ranking places our website among the top 2 most visited modeling agency websites in the United States in terms of website traffic.

Thank you for considering our agency, and best wishes.
